These clients came to us newly retired and ready to build a space that reflected where they are now, not where they had been.
Rustic Retreat
A forever home in every sense. The brief was personal, layered, and full of life. We designed around the way they actually live. Quiet corners for reading, generous spaces for entertaining, a dedicated room for making things. Each zone has its own intention, and together they tell a complete story.
Color and pattern do the heavy lifting here, anchored by art and objects collected through years of travel. Nothing was chosen to fill space. Every piece carries something with it, and the result is a home that feels exactly like the people who live in it.

Carly Allen grew up in the design & build industry, spending summers poring over blueprints and weekends hunting antiques through small New England towns. That early immersion shaped a clear point of view and eventually led to the founding of Meadow House, a full-service luxury interior design studio and home furnishings shop based in Great Barrington, Massachusetts.
As Founder and Creative Director, Carly leads the vision, standards, and client experience for the studio, shaping the overall direction of each project with a thoughtful, highly involved perspective. Alongside her, Meadow House’s skilled team of designers carries that vision through development, coordination, and installation with careful attention to detail.
Carly’s work and studio have been featured in Architectural Digest, The Boston Globe, and leading East Coast design publications.
Outside the studio, you’ll likely find Carly antiquing, enjoying a latte at Guido's Fresh Marketplace, or exploring the Berkshires with her yellow lab, Meatball.
