The Bird House

A small lake cottage once stood here. Strict zoning codes are a reality for much of Berkshire lakefront property, and this project was no exception. We were bound to the exact footprint of the original structure, which meant every inch had to earn its place.

That constraint became the creative brief. We leaned into custom built-ins, intimate seating moments, and a hotel-influenced approach to living, where nothing is wasted and everything is considered.

The result is a space that works as beautifully as it looks. Nods to Scandinavian design run throughout, grounding the interiors in something quiet and intentional, the perfect counterpoint to a Berkshire lake outside the window.
